Boho Style Sweater // How to Get Bouncy Curls

I decided to go outside the safe zone and pick out this fun bohemian style/ tribal print sweater.  Not sure exactly what you call it but I definitely got a boho feel from it and really like that it's a bit different from everything else in my closet.  Plus, I'm a sucker for tassels.

Next to my eye lashes, I get the most questions from you guys about my hair.  How I curl it? What tool do I use? What products do I use? You get the idea.  So, I wanted to share as much information as I can to help you because not long ago I couldn't curl my hair for the life of me.  It didn't look fun and bouncy or it didn't last. 

A little background first.  I have naturally curly/wavy/frizzy hair.  You'd think that would help as opposed to stick straight hair, but it didn't.  A curling iron never worked or should I say, I didn't know how to properly use it.  Next, I jumped ship to flat iron curls. The flat iron worked to curl my hair, in that the curl lasted but, it give a very straight curl. If that's even a thing.  They were long, ringlet style curls but I wasn't really a fan.  I jumped on YouTube and starting watching girls curl their hair with a wand and thought it was worth a try.  I bought a cheaper one at first, HERE, and it worked nicely right from the start.  Over time I killed it and I thought I'd invest in a higher end one, one with more options and better functionality.  I bought THIS one and have been in love ever since.  It comes with three interchangeable heads that allows so much versatility in for tighter or looser curls.  It is a little more of an investment but I'm so glad I made it.  

My favorite way to curl my hair is with the 1" barrel but it does provide a pretty tight curl so I prefer to curl it tight and either sleep on it or let the curls set for an hour and then brush it out.  The curls in this look above are second day curls. They are more bouncy and loose but not quite as casual as beach waves.  I paired my big curls with THIS fun statement sweater.  It's a super soft chenille with varying knit texture. Put it with my favorite black skinny jeans (super slimming) and some black booties.  A perfect fall look.
