Pink dress
Dress : Here / Shoes: Here (Similar Here and Here)

I have hit the jackpot! I've found the prettiest dress of the season and it's a dead ringer for the designer number that goes for more than $500! Yup, you read that right. The designer version is over $500 and this gorgeous dupe is under $55. I can hardly believe it.  Plus, the designer number is sold out everywhere but this dupe is available in all sizes.  If that's not hitting the jackpot I don't know what is.

The shoulder details of this dress are unique and so, so fun. It's part off the shoulder, part cold shoulder. The button up front and eyelet details all make for such a pretty, frilly dress that is a total show stopper.  I will say, I thought about going up a size since this dress has no stretch but surprisingly, I wish I had gone down a size (I got a S for reference).  The length is perfect for any occasion (I'm 5'6.5") but the top is where I felt it could be a bit smaller for me.  This could be a result of two kids if you know what I mean. The designer dress has two features I do like more; real pockets and a more vibrant pink color. This dress has faux pockets and is a more muted pink but, for the difference in price I'm completely satisfied with not having either of the designer details.

Since warmer weather calls for all things party, I know I'll have a million different occasions to wear this.  The tough part will be picking just the right one.

Fresh faced with Julep

Friday, April 28, 2017

Problem skin is something I've struggled with my whole life.  In fact, I struggle with it more now, as an adult, than I did as a teenager.  You name it and I have it.  Acne, yes. Dry skin, yes.  Oily skin, yes. Uneven texture, yes.  Dark spots, yes.  I mean, the list goes on and on and on.  I am always on the lookout for products that can help my skin.  Lately I've been trying out Julep's Love Your Bare face Hydrating Oil and Detoxifying Skin Stick.

The oil is actually used to remove makeup which was super strange to me at first.  Its lightweight and antioxidant-rich and as you rub it on it literally melts away your makeup.  You use it on dry skin and then rinse it off.  I was worried that adding oil may make my skin even more dry since your body will reduce its product of natural oils if it believes there is an excess. Surprising I haven't had that experience and what I love most is that my skin actually feels incredibly moisturized after I rinse it off.

I've been following up the Hydrating Oil with the Detoxifying Skin Stick and I really like this product.  Its super easy to use as you simply rub it all over your face and then I have been using the Julep Konjac Cleansing Sponge.  Its a natural sponge made from a Japanese plant and enriched with charcoal.  When massaged into the skin with the Skin Stick it creates a light foam and helps exfoliate dead skin cells leaving my skin feeling smoother and reducing the issues I have with texture.

When my skin feels better makeup tends to go on easier and look better overall. It doesn't hurt that Julep has some amazing makeup in addition to its cleansing products.  The cream stick eyeshadow is the easiest eyeshadow ever to apply.  I've put it in my purse and quickly dabbed it on in the evenings when I have somewhere to go and need to spruce up my look.  The built in smudger makes application foolproof.  I have been using color bronze shimmer.  I definitely plan on incorporating these products into my daily routine for the foreseeable future.

Crated With Love

Thursday, April 27, 2017

I love things that make my life easier, simpler and more purposeful.  When I was first introduced to the concept behind Crated with Love I was super excited.  With the hectic pace of life right now Kev and I could definitely use an excuse to really connect and have a little fun.  When I then learned that Crated with Love was created by a local Fresno State grad and his wife I loved the concept even more. I love to support local business as I hope for that same support.

The monthly box subscriptions are designed to deliver everything needed for fun date nights directly to your house. Each monthly box features a theme and is filled with challenges, games, and goodies designed to connect (or reconnect) you with your “other half.” This month's box was all about the 80's which was fun since Kev and I were both born in the 80's.  The box included fun games that require teamwork and a lot of laughs.  One game was for one person to wear a fanny pack (yes it included a neon green fanny pack!) and the other person needed to throw the ping pong ball into the fanny pack.  Talk about a riot watching two people contort their body so that they can catch a ping pong ball!

Each subscription includes multiple date activities, games, questions and more.  Thus, one box is plenty to keep you and your other half busy for multiple dates each month. And with subscriptions at less than $20 its a wonderfully inexpensive way to add fun and love to your month.  Plus, right now they have a special going on so you can save even more on your subscription by using code YEAR at checkout. The Perfect Espadrilles for Summer

Tuesday, April 18, 2017

Nothing screams summer like a great pair of Espadrilles.  I'm loving the rope bottoms that are trending major this year.  Cork is cute too but if you can find a great pair of espadrilles I know your closet will thank you. There are so many different styles out right now too.  Closed toe, open toe, cross front, etc. There really isn't a wrong way to go.

I've found the cutest pair of summer espadrilles and they are tie ups with tassel finishes.  I died when I found them and the price is perfection.  They come in two colors, one is demin and I had the hardest time trying to decide which one would be better.  The tie up gives a lot of versatility because you can finish them with a bow in the front or back, high or low.  Gives you options that are great depending on the outfit you're wearing and look you're going for.

I've linked several of my favorites in all different styles and prices.  These espadrilles will cover all your bases and are a perfect addition to your summer wardrobe.
