Friday Favorites- September 29th

FRI-YAY people!!  So excited to share with you some of my favorite things from this past week!  Hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy sharing them. I am most excited to share my first favorite for this week, ThredUp.

I have recently been introduced to the coolest online shop and I couldn't wait to share with you all.  I didn't even want to wait until my full post to talk about it. ThredUp has the most amazing items for a fraction of the retail price. From clothes, to shoes, to accessories, ThredUp has it all. I have been stalking it's supply every single day!  I scored brand new clothes for nearly 50% the normal store price.  50% OFF!  I do love a bargain and thought you'd all like to know about it too! You can check out ThredUp HERE.

We didn't exactly start the last week off on a high note but I'm happy to say things only improved from there! My littlest one got pretty sick with a super high fever, vomiting and lots of tests. He's doing so much better but just got an ear infection to add insult to injury.  Good thing he's I'm a trooper!

We celebrated a sweet little boy's 1st birthday on Saturday at Little Gym.  J and B were womb buddies and I still remember visiting J when he was just a few days old, so it's crazy to think that a year has already gone by! Since B was sick he stayed home but C loved every second and was a wild man as you can tell. The dessert was killer, it looked as good as it tasted and I can't believe I didn't get a good picture of it to share.

Kev and I went with some friends to Garth Brooks on Saturday night!  It was one of the best concerts ever.  Garth is such an amazing performer. Every seat in the house was taken but not one was a bad seat.  He killed it playing all his best hits! Afterwards we hit up a local dive bar for dancing and drinks. It was a really fun night out.

I used to live in southern California and had a season pass to Disneyland and California Adventure. Since moving away I haven't been back since but with two little men it was due time.  So of course I didn't want to miss out on the opportunity to dress accordingly! How cute are these disney shirts?!  I scored so many good Disney clothes this week HERE for the entire family.

The Perfect Cold Shoulder for Fall

One of my all time favorite places to find cute dresses is
Since CA stays warm straight through October dresses stay in the wardrobe rotation. I am obsessed with navy at the moment, along with a dozen other deep colors burgundy, hunter green, camel! This navy cold shoulder dress is perfect for hot days but cooler nights.  I love the crochet neck detail and the small eyelet details on the sleeves.  The cold shoulder is always a winner in my book and the bell sleeves add that extra flare.  I can easily see adding boots and a scarf and making this work in November as well or at least pretending that we are getting some fall temps!

Paris Chic - {3 Tips For Choosing Timeless Pieces}

Wednesday, September 28, 2016

Just about this time last year I was lucky enough to travel with my mom to Paris, France.  While traveling halfway across the world six months pregnant is not the most fun thing to do, the trip itself was wonderful. It was my second time visiting and the people, the architecture, the culture, the food were all just as amazing as the first.  What was even better was the fashion.  Unfortunately, it's super hard to buy clothing with a belly not really knowing how something will fit, but when I spotted this pretty number from Karen Millen I just knew I had to make it work.

Karen Millen has some of the most timeless cuts and on-trend styles. I wanted half of her store but opted for this classic A line black and white dress.  I knew I would have a million places I could wear it and baby or not, the cut would be flattering.

Here are some tips on picking timeless pieces that will work now and years from now
  1. Go for a classic silhouette: An A-line dress or shift dress is a flattering cut on most all bodies, It never goes out of style and can be worn year round.
  2. Choose a simple pattern: A solid color or small pattern is easier to work with in that you can add various accessories to give it new life year after year.  If the pattern is too busy, too large or the color is too bold, it will limit your use.
  3. Choose a good fabric: A good fabric will not only wear better day one, it will last longer down the road. Plus, a heavier fabric tends to have a luxe feel to it so you'll be sure to carry the look with more confidence every time you wear it.

My dress is from last season but HERE are a few Karen Millen looks that I'm totally coveting now and below I've linked a few as well.

Tie Dye Perfection

Monday, September 26, 2016

I love rocking dresses well into fall especially when paired with some of my favorite fall accessories. I can't stress enough how much I love a good pair of booties and a big, floppy hat.  Both scream fall but still work even when September and October bring 90 degree weather. Midi dresses are great for cooler temps and with the 90's making a comeback you can easily throw a plaid shirt around your waist and call it a day.

This midi is under $30 and soft as can be.  I have spotted several really cute alternatives on Cupshe that are super affordable. I'm loving all of their tie dye looks. Plus, they are having their 1 year anniversary sale and you can score free shipping and 16% off with code: CUP.  Definitely worth stocking up on great fall dresses.

I'd say Fri-Naly but I barely know what day it is.  We had such a whirlwind of a week it has taken me a couple of days to get back in the swing of things.

On Saturday I took my oldest to Clovis Night Out with some friends and he had a field day.  Every truck you can imagine, fire, police, garbage, etc., were all there plus about 20 different inflatable bounce houses, a super tall slide and lots of food and vendors.  Of course he wanted to go on the three story high slide, BY HIMSELF! He thought it was the coolest thing!

On Monday I left with some girl friends for a fun trip to LA. We got tickets to Dancing with the Stars and decided to make a fun couple of days out of it.  Monday we went down, got dinner and went out for some fun and boy, oh boy, did we have fun.  We hit up the Abbey and they had a drag queen competition.  It was one of the best things I've ever seen. We got comped a table on the dance floor and had the best view.  Unexpectedly, the best part of the night was when the table across from us had some guys jump on the dance floor and do backup dancing for any beyonce song that came on.  They knew all Beyonce's choreography and it was completely unplanned but so exciting to watch.  They could definitely move!! Tuesday we spent the day shopping, eating and getting pampered in advance of the show.  We had VIP tickets so we get right in and had front row seats.  It was amazing to be that close to the dancing pros and stars, I could see every little detail and if I had reached my hand out could have touched them.  Vanilla Ice and Derek Hough both stood right next to us at different times.  Everyone was so nice and it was a great getaway.  Definitely hard getting back in the swing of real life come Wednesday morning!

Jana Kramer was the cutest and super sweet.  I love her music and she was the one I was most excited to see.

Vanilla Ice
Amber Rose
Ryan Lochte

I have been loving all things tassel for some time now. When I spotted this pretty little number I had to snag it up! There are lots of great options HERE.

Here is another bag I'm loving.  Grey is so in for Fall and it works with this pretty dark floral dress I snagged at the anniversary sale. Both are under $30.  Revolve has the best floral numbers that transition from Summer to Fall effortlessly. Shop the Latest Trends from Today's Top Brands. Free 2-Day Shipping!

I have finally set up my boxy girl organizer and I'm loving it.  This is the pic from before I starting using it with my items and I can't wait to share with all of you how I decided to utilize this great organizer. Stay tuned for my full post.
