Friday Favorites- July 15

Fri-nally its Friday! Happy almost weekend people.  We have a fun little BBQ planned and sunny weather, so lots of swimming on the agenda.  What are you all up to?

This past weekend one of the great shopping centers in town had its annual sidewalk sale so of course some friends and I had to go check it out.

I snagged this adorable off the shoulder top during our morning shopping.  Can we say obsessed.  I have a problem when it comes to anything off the shoulder.  I want them all. Little side note, they are incredibly easy for nursing which makes them even more appealing. This little ditty is from a local boutique, Stella, but I've linked some similar options for this look below.

They offered a pancake breakfast to go with all your shopping but we skipped that to do some complimentary yoga at Lululemon instead. Honestly, I don't often like to slow down since I'm such a type A personality but this yoga class was much needed! We finished off the morning doing some shopping, of course!

I didn't even own a mat until last week when this Aurora Yoga mat, bag and shoes arrived just in time for the class.  I did a full post on Aurora which you can check out HERE.  I love that it is all color coordinated!

This past week we took the kiddos to Bravo Farms. We went last year and they loved it.  Its only 30 minutes away and has lots for them to check out.  Last year one of the highlights was about 50 old dump trucks and we were really looking forward to them again this year. C loves all things truck related.  Unfortunately, they are preparing for a huge remodel so all of the trucks were gone. They had goats to feed last year as well, but those too were missing in action.  They kids still had fun climbing in the tree houses, riding in the wagon and going down the slides. We completed the trip with a little candied sugar (aka- a sucker) which made for one happy boy.

Once again I got sucked in at Homegoods and grabbed a few new throw pillows for our living room.  I wanted something more colorful and bright for summer.  These have several different colors and add a cheerful touch to the room.  At less than $20 each, I think they've found a new home here.

One of my best friends, Christina from The Patricios dropped off the sweetest gift last week, a box full of cantaloupe. Her family farms them in the central valley and they are the most amazing cantaloupe.  Food is definitely the way to this girls heart and my belly has been happy.  Did you know cantaloupe has more potassium than a banana and about 30 times as much beta carotene as an orange. Its a super fruit and you should definitely include them in your diet.  I love mine with cottage cheese and sliced almonds! If you're lucky enough to get Westside cantaloupes then jump on buying them all.  They are delicious!

    1. Off the shoulder shirts are my weakness, I just justify having so many by making them dual purpose!

  5. I think I need to try some yoga! I think it may be just the thing to center and relax me. And cantaloupes are one of my favorite fruits. I love them plain or dipped in vanilla yogurt. Also, your striped off the shoulder top is adorable!

I would love for you to join my On the Edge of the Week Link Up which goes live every Thursday at 5:00 p.m. EST.

  6. The top is so cute on you and who knew cantaloupes were so good for you? Well you did, but I didn't. :) I wonder if you could use them in a salad with basil and feta instead of watermelon? Or maybe cantaloupe *and* watermelon -- the colours would be so appetizing!

    1. Switching cantaloupe in that salad sounds amazing! I may have to add that to tonight's menu!
