The end of August is quickly approaching and that means summer is coming to an end. While it stays well into the 90's here in Fresno I definitely start to feel the need to transition into warmer tones come September. Those warmer tones still have to be functional though! No sweaters or even light jackets yet for me. I just ordered two pieces that work great for giving me that fall look without dying of heat exhaustion. Both are light weight, can be worn now and when it finally does cool down, and both won't break the bank.
Kimono's are not just for summer cover ups. They are a fun way to add texture and pattern to an otherwise ordinary outfit and since most cardigans are sweater like material, kimonos are a great lightweight or heat sensitive option. This one caught my eye with the boho pattern and the orange and green tones, perfect for fall. The tassels were an added plus since they are fun without being over the top. I paired this with my fav maternity cutoffs and some booties. This could easily be worn with skinny jeans and heels for a more dressed up look.
I was running around this past weekend with Kevin for the restaurant and this was an effortless look. Plus, I love how the kimono is long enough to cover some of my backside but not so long it swallows my shorts and looks like I have nothing underneath. It was hot while we were out but this lightweight, linen like material was super breathable. We tried out a new (to me) taco place and it was a total hit! If you're in Fresno you need to go to Taco's Tijuana. AH-MAZING.
This top comes in 7 or 8 different colors and I'm definitely ordering more. It is double lined on the bottom half so it's not see thru at all. I originally paired it with white skinny jeans and nude heels but it can easily go with jeans or black as I have it below.
