Shoe Envy || Shoe Review of Spring Flats and Slides

Tuesday, February 27, 2018

Earlier this month we had a couple of weeks that mimicked spring. The sun was shinning, the temps were in the mid 70's and I was itching to kick off the boots and throw on some great new shoes.  I'm a sucker for all things neutral since it just works with everything.  And I'm currently loving white.  It was a trend we saw all winter and I don't think it's going anywhere any time soon.  Plus, how could I pass up on some hot pink, bow laden flats!?!

Writing a review on these 5 shoes below.  The ones that are worth the splurge, the ones that aren't and everything in-between. Be sure to check it out.

I love the look of white shoes and the perforated details plus pointy toe on these Journey Collection flats from Target instantly caught my eye.  I have really narrow feet so I often find that a lot of shoes are too wide and leave pockets around the sides and top of my foot (see below) but these ones did not and are actually very comfortable from the minute I put them on.  I will say that the do run large so size down half a size.  I am normally a solid 9 but repurchased these in an 8.5 since I could fit a finger in the back by my heel. They are under $40 and worth the buy IMO but online only.

Find them HERE.

In other white shoe news, these slides by Something Navy X Treasure and Bond are SOOO cute. They come in 3 colors (blue, black and white) are on MAJ sale right now and are a total buy IF, you have a wider foot or don't mind a loose fit.  They were way too big for me.  Sadly, I'm returning them.  I keep considering ordering a size down but fear that will shorten not necessarily tighten the fit around my foot but I might as well give it a try.  They're selling out fast since the deal is that good so don't wait.

Find them HERE.

These nude slides are a great neutral to have in your closet at all times.  They are super similar to Rebecca Minkoff and Free People slides but a fraction of the price.  The color is a really pretty skin tone nude, not too pink or yellow and they are super easy to wear.  Again, with this brand the sizing is a little on the large size so I had to go down to an 8.5. They come in a slide and a loafer and in several different colors, all under $40.  Here are the SLIDES, here are the LOAFERS.

If you recognize these it could be because the Free People version was everywhere last fall.  I found these beauties at one of my favs, Target! More than $160 cheaper, too!  So here's the break down; they are cute, nice quality for the price and come in several colors however, they did not work for me.  It could be my feet or more specifically my ankles but the inner side of the shoe comes up too high and rubs right along my ankle bone making them really uncomfortable from the beginning.  They may have broken in if I gave them the time but I'm not in the mood to suffer walking when I have to do it all day long.

I do think they are really worth a try. You've got nothing to loose with free shipping and easy returns. Just be aware.  Free people dupes HERE. The real things HERE.

I saved the best for last.  I am absolutely smitten with this hot pink bow flats.  They are a vibrant pink suede like material. Super comfortable and come in 4 colors.  They are under $70 and will definitely be brightening up my Spring wardrobe.  I think having flats of all kinds is a must since they are so easy to throw on and help really bring a look together.  Plus, for those times when you have to be on your feet or walking a lot, there just really isn't any other way to go.  Find my favs HERE.

I've linked a couple of other great options below, including a pair of metallic beauties I'm eyeing!!
