Sharing How We Met & A Men's Gift Guide

I know a lot of you see me and have gotten to know my through the blog and IG but I wanted to share a little more about me and my love, Kevin.  A side I don't share a whole lot since he isn't really interested in even being an Instagram husband, let alone a feature on the blog. But I'm working to break him down slowing but surely.

Our First Anniversary

Here are the links to my look from above.

We first met in law school but funnily enough I spotted his friends before I ever saw Kev and thought his friend was sooo cute.  It was the first day of school and Dan, Kevin's dark, handsome, Italian friend, was in line for some orientation we all needed to sign up for so he and I started talking.  Nothing more than normal pleasantries and getting to know you convos.  About a week later our school was holding its annual rafting trip, a lazy day floating down the river and having some drinks as a way of all the new students getting to know one another and have a bit of fun.  We signed up in our respective classes, filling rafts.  When I got to the river, low and behold Dan is in a raft, right next to ours, with this guy who is strikingly handsome.  Tall, broad shoulders, piercing dark eyes and a sly little smile that says "hey, you're cute but I'm not gonna come right out and say it".  Dan introduced me and tried to talk me into jumping "ship" for their raft.  I wanted to but thought better of it.  We docked and I didn't see them again for the remainder of the floating.

Unfortunately, one of my raft mates had a bit too much to drink and by the time we docked she was not doing so hot.  Of course, this is also the time that I was reacquainted with Dan and Kevin. They mentioned that a group was going out for drinks and invited me.  I got my friend safely situated and headed out. We all met up and got to know each other better.  As the night went on Dan started fading away and Kevin and I found ourselves deep in conversation for hours on end.  At a certain point, Dan left and the next thing we knew it was 3am.

Needless to say we knew very early on there was something special between us.  Even though neither of us were looking for a relationship ours just naturally happened.  Within days we were inseparable and Kevin now freely tells me that after only a month he knew he loved me but of course never said anything for fear of being to rash.  I knew too.  Everything I thought I'd never do, I did with Kevin.  He made law school more enjoyable, if that's even possible.

We dated the entire time through law school and the year after we both graduated and passed the bar  he sweet talked me into moving back to his hometown, Fresno, and I'm so glad he did. We've now been married for 8 years and together for 12. Makes me feel so old to think 12 years have already passed but I can't wait until the day I can say it's been 80!

We aren't big on Valentine's Day around here but I am big on doing or giving things that are useful and/or thoughtful. I rounded up some great gifts for guys, just something to say "hey, I think you're pretty special".  Skip the old tie option and go with stylish clothes or personal care items.  Guys care about how they look and feel too.

Love,
Rema

Kevin loves to stay active.  He works out regularly, his hobbies are usually active and even when we are just lounging with the boys he prefers stylish but comfortable clothes.  Thus, fitness wear is definitely on the list for him.  Some slim fit plaid shirts and some personal care items are some other great options.  When thinking of the guys in your life consider their hobbies and enhance them.  Think about what might make life easier for them. I've linked lots of options below and most are under $75.
