Friday Favorites- October 7th Disneyland Edition

Friday, October 7, 2016

I have a special edition of Friday Favorites this week. I've dedicated it solely to Disneyland since we spent most of the week there eating churros and starring in wonder! We loaded up the car with the whole family and headed south to the happiest place on earth.  The boys had never been to Disneyland before and Colton, being 3 1/2, was beyond excited to go.  We had looked at pictures and watched videos of the various characters and rides before hand so he knew exactly what he wanted to do and who he wanted to see.  Little did he know there was much more in store.

If you ever want to experience pure joy, awe and wonder all at the same time take a 3 year old to Disneyland.  I've never seen eyes so big and smiles so wide.  We spent our time in both Disneyland and Disneyland's California Adventure.  My personal favorite was DCA. Everything is so new and well thought out.  They have done such an amazing job of incorporating all of the great Pixar movies. Every square inch is designed meticulously, there are plenty of shops, vendors, restaurants, seating, restrooms, you name it.  We went on more rides than I can remember and I feel like I have a Disneyland Hangover from all the fun.

Colton loved anything that was fast and scary.  He wasn't really interested in any of the kiddie rides, instead he wanted the roller coasters and water rides.  Luckily he was just tall enough to make the 40" rides or at least close enough (we may have stuffed his shoes just to go on one ride where they were a little more critical of his 39.7" height.)  Uncle D was with us and spoiled the boys with their first pair of ears, lots of piggy back rides and love.

He loved Big Thunder Mountain and Mickey's Haunted Mansion in Disneyland.  In DCA Toy Story Mania and Cars Land were two of his favorites. He got to see Mater and Lighting McQueen in person but one of the highlights of his trip was getting to hug Captain America.  Never have I seen eyes light up quite so big!

Bronson was happy just as long as he was up getting to see all of the action or EAT.  Taking in all of the people, characters and adorable Halloween decor. He loved Its A Small World and Monster's Inc. The churros and french fries were a close second.

The Parade in DCA capped our trip and was so much fun.  We had a front and center spot where we got sprayed with water and members even came over to Colton to give high fives.

Colton left with "the funest(sic) toy ever!" From the minute he arrived he saw the bubble shooter and was in love.  Nonnie and Papa surprised him with one of his own and he hasn't put it down since. This thing literally blows constant bubbles and lights up.  No more manually blowing bubbles for me and Bronson thinks its pretty awesome too. Win, win for everyone.

Nonnie and Papa treated us all to a whirlwind adventure filled with more memories than my heart can hold.  Good thing we got lots of pictures.
