Mini Bedroom Makeover

Slowly but surely I've been trying to update the decor in our bedroom.  When we first bought the house and decorated we went brown and neutral heavy.  I wish we had made some different choices but until I can completely start over, I've slowly tried to incorporate some other colors and some new textures.  I started with this fun rug from Lorena Canal.  They started as a baby rug company and have recently broadened their scope to include home design rugs and I absolutely love this black and white diamond print rug.  Its pretty large at 4'8" by 6'7", is completely machine washable (thank heavens because I have two boys) and is durable.  All Lorena Canal rugs are handmade from 100% cotton which I think is pretty awesome.

The side table we already owned but I added THIS green plant for a natural element and a nice pop of color and picked up the decorative pieces to accent it which you can find HERE and HERE.  I love the light color and shape of this BASKET and I grabbed this macrame PILLOW along with this super sparkly, beaded pillow for a nice contrast in style and texture.  I've changed our bedding to a classic blue set from Macy's that you can find HERE.  Next up to change is the headboard.....  B seems to really like this remodeled little nook in our room and I have to agree. .
