Jewelry & Jeans: August 2016

Friday Favorites- August 26th

Friday, August 26, 2016

Hooray for another week done and a weekend of fun ahead!  This past week has been crazy.  I feel like with each passing week we are getting more and more busy.  The restaurant is starting construction this coming week so we've had lots of bids and construction related work to do. Its high stress but really exciting.

This past weekend a dear friend finally turned 30!  She was seriously making me feel old but now she's joined us old folks in our 30's.  We celebrated in the city and did lots of eating, drinking and laughing. My full post is coming soon but here's some of the highlights. Happy Birthday auntie Lex!

My sweet friend Annie from The Real Housewife of Fresno invited me to join her and a local boutique, Oh La La in trying out their newest styles bi-monthly and we had a blast looking for date night looks!  Here are some snaps from the night. Can you tell I'm obsessed with jumpsuits?

I love shoes even if they aren't for my feet.  I spotted these and just couldn't resist.  I can already see Bronson rocking these high tops with some skinny jeans this fall and I'm sure they will be worn just in time for him to start walking.

For the summer months I love a really bright polish but since I'm craving all things fall I've been wearing this gorgeous red color.  This one is from OPI and is called The Thrill of Brazil.

How cute is this bohemian top.  It is off the shoulder but has straps and the prettiest modern paisley print.  The details are killing me. Can't wait to wear it with distressed denim and booties!

Gypsie Style

Wednesday, August 24, 2016

I love a good dress and love to slip one on any chance I get.  Spring, Summer or Fall I try to find dresses that work for all seasons and this printed gypsie style dress is a definite win in my book.  The flowy sleeves and effortless style make it easy to live in.  I've been pairing all my boho dresses with my go-to fall booties.  I love to incorporate pieces from different seasons into my wardrobe year round if possible and shoes are an easy one to add. For the hot days I can easily throw on sandals or wedges and get an equally great look.  Plus, I recently wore this dress to the Carrie Underwood concert and it looked great with my cowboy boots! So many options make this a versatile must have!

Beach Attire {Picking out the Perfect Swimsuit Accompaniment}

Friday, August 19, 2016

I just couldn't resist throwing in these cuties.  We had such a fun day.

A day at the beach calls for a good book, a big hat and some dark sunnies.  It also calls for a great swimsuit cover up.  I'm loving tie dye right now and love a good romper.  Combine the two and it's impossible for me to resist. Some of my favorite beach wear contains just a few simple elements; colorful, flowy and shows just a touch of skin. Whether rocking a tunic and showing off the legs or some casual shorts and flaunting those great abs your outfit should be stylish but definitely comfortable.

I tend to choose one of three things when looking for a swim coverup. Either a romper, a tunic or a kimono.  Rompers like the one I'm wearing are great when the weather is a touch cooler and you aren't planning on laying out.  Tunics are great for tanning the legs and covering trouble spots if you're more self conscious.  Kimonos are easy to put on and take off so they work best when actually sunbathing. Each serve a great purpose and have a spot in my wardrobe.  What's your summer go to for bathing suit season?

Friday Favorites- August 19th

Another week, another Friday and hooray for that!  We had a really fun weekend filled with arcade games, birthday parties and boating.  On Friday we met with Oma and Jojo at Chuck-e-Cheese for a fun filled day of games.  C loves this place and constantly talks about wanting his 4th birthday here. He played lots of games and the parentals enjoyed some as well. Despite the fact that we had hundreds of tickets Colton only wanted a bag of skittles and a whistle so i'm sure we'll be back to cash in the rest soon.

On Saturday we celebrated the birthdays of two sweet sisters at Pump It Up.  One of Colton's favorites spots.  They jumped their hearts out and devoured some sweet cupcakes.  Love watching these sweet babies grow up.

We were lucky enough to get a date night Saturday night and took full advantage by trying out a new restaurant in town, Wasabi Fire.  We had their teppanyaki and it was amazing.  Seriously, so good. We then attempted to see a movie but apparently I can't properly read movie times and was off by an hour.  Ha!

This pretty purple mock neck blouse is even prettier in person.  The lace details is absolutely gorg! Best part is that it is under $25.  You can find it HERE.

Sunday some friends invited us out to the lake with them. Not sure how we all managed it but we were sans kids for the entire day and it was glorious. When its 100+ degrees out a nice cold drink and some cool water with some friends is a must.

I've had a few quick trips and have a few coming so I'm starting to become an expert packer.  Well, maybe that's extreme, I still way overpack but I just got these travel styling tools from Xtava and they are perfect space savers.  The curling wand also doubles as a flat iron and the hair dryer actually comes with all the necessary attachments including an adapter for when you travel outside the country.  I've already used all three products and am super impressed with how well they work and how little room they take up.  They are running a sale right now offering 20% off with code XTREMA at
