Lady Like in Lace

Wednesday, June 29, 2016

There is something so lady like about lace. The delicate fabricate, the intricate design, the peek-a-boo of skin. It's one of my favorite fabrics and every time I wear it I feel so pretty.  This dress is top to bottom lace with a camisole dress underneath.  The navy is a nice alternative to the typical black and the lace on lace texture overlay across the middle nicely defines my waist without adding bulk. I have so many events that this dress would be perfect for. I can't wait to wear it.  I added come cage heels and my favorite, must have, goes with everything, leopard clutch to finish off the look with a little edge.

The detail gets me every time!

My dress is from H&M where they had it fully stocked but unfortunately isn't online and my earrings are from Forever 21 a few seasons ago. I've linked some similar styles below.

Finn & Emma

I can't believe my littlest babe is now seven months old.  Honestly, you'd think with the little amount of sleep I get I'd feel like its been the longest seven months ever but, in reality it has flown by.  I wish I had a pause button. Except actually, its no fun to pause these teething months and for that, I'd like a fast forward button.  These natural wood and rattle teethers from Finn & Emma are a definite saving grace when he gets fussy.  Not only is its an adorable little raccoon rattle but the rattle is attached to an all natural wood base made from untreated Indian hardwood so you can feel confident in your little one playing safely.  I also love this adorable organic cotton romper.  Its so soft and perfect for this hot summer.  I see a lot of teething and a lot of romping around in our future.

This is a sponsored post by Finn & Emma however, as always all opinions are honest and my own.

Ruffles, Ruffles and more Ruffles

Monday, June 27, 2016

I practically live in white denim all spring and summer and if I'm going to be totally honest, half the time I wear them in the fall and winter too.  Rules were meant to be broken, right?! I just love the way bright colors pop off of white jeans and this coral/orange top is the perfect bright color.  The ruffle details and racer back are fun and flattering. I recently wore this top when we took the kiddos to an outdoor food truck and beer garden night out. I swapped out the white denim for blue jeans since it was outdoors and put on some flats.  I love a piece of clothing that works with being dressed up or dressed down.

My top and heels are from last season but I've linked some similar styles below that are available now.  My earrings are from H&M but are sold out on line however, my local store had plenty in stock.

My Little Movers - Diapering Made Easier

Sunday, June 26, 2016

One of my favorite times of the day is bath time with my little movers.  I can't get enough of the big smiles, the squeaky clean faces and that just washed smell! Its always a little wild afterwards trying to wrangle this baby into his diaper since he is always on the go trying to keep up with brother.

As a mom of two I've gone thru my fair share of diapers.  I've tried nearly every brand out there hoping to get the best for my baby.  Time and time again I found myself buying Huggies® Little Movers because they not only fit my baby well, they stay fitted even while he rolls, crawls, bounces, jumps. walks, sits..... you get the point.  Plus, they keep him dry and don't irritate his sensitive skin.

After years of using Huggies® I've come up with a few tricks for making life easier when trying to change a moving target baby.

1. Be prepared.  I don't even lay my baby down without having his diaper, wipes, rash cream etc. all ready to go.  I know my time is limited and he is not going to wait for me to open up the diaper or get the power. Which leads me to point 2.

2. Have a toy or something interesting for baby to hold and play with.  When the baby is occupied he tends to wiggle less and when his hands are busy he isn't touching places he shouldn't.

3. When baby is old enough change him standing up.  There is nothing my baby hates more than stopping play for a diaper change. As long as its a simple wet diaper and they are stable enough to stand alone, its pretty easy to do a diaper change while he is standing and its a lot less hassle.

4.  Put on the diaper backwards.  I know this sounds crazy but there are kiddos out there that love to pull on the flaps and take off their diaper.  Luckily I haven't had this experience but if your little one doesn't love to wear diapers and thinks he's independent enough to remove, put the diaper on backwards to eliminate the changes they can take it off.

As any mom knows, we fly through diapers quickly so a small pack of 24 or 48 or even 80 don't last long.  I have better things to do than go buy diapers every other day.  I love that I can get 180 at Sam's Club (+ 12 bonus diapers) for a fraction of what that would cost me else where, plus they ship for free!  Did you see that, FREE!! Sam's Club is offering $3 off now until July 17th and that's a huge savings making the bulk pack even more appealing.  (I just picked up two boxes, one in his size 3 and one in size 4 since I know he'll be there shortly)

Right now you have a chance to win a $500 Sam's Club gift card by submitting a photo of your Little Movers.  Check out the details and enter to win  on their landing page HERE!

Friday Favorites- June 24

Friday, June 24, 2016

Hello again and happy Friday. I am so excited for the weekend.  Its the first weekend in ages where we don't have anything planned AND my husband will be home.  This last month has been crazy and he has been on not one, but two, camping trips.  I'm happy to have him home to say the least.

We started off with a play date for the kids at our zoo.  We have a really amazing zoo that recently underwent a major addition creating an African Safari exhibit.  It is unlike anything I've seen, with a more realistic setting for the animals. We now have cheetahs, lions, African elephants, rhinos, and so much more. We have season passes and go all the time.  The boys love it.

On Saturday I had the pleasure of throwing a baby shower for my sweet friend Mary with some of my favorite ladies.  I wrote a whole post on it HERE along with my outfit details.  It was definitely one of the highlights of my weekend. So glad we were able to shower baby boy K with some love.

We were so lucky to have a local Donut shop custom make these adorable horseshoe donuts for us as favors for the guests.  They turned out so cute and tasted even better.  If you live in the Fresno area and haven't tried Donut Fantasy do yourself a favor and drive there now!  They make all kinds of unique donut combinations like Flamin' Cheeto and my personal favorite, maple bacon bar.  It is to die for.  You will not be disappointed.  They are all so nice and they are happy to work with you to make personalized custom creations for your special event.  You can contact them HERE.

Sunday was Father's Day and the boys are so lucky to have a fantastic daddy like Kevin. We spent the day swimming and playing followed by an easy dinner and watching game 7.  Kevin requested a no fuss day and that was fine in my book.  I recently took an impromptu photo when we were all at the park together and those are often times my favorite.  Not perfectly staged, but raw and real.  I really loved this photo and wanted to print it for K.  Artifact Uprising is an amazing place to print your photos.  The quality is superb.  The card stock is heavy and it doesn't have the reflective glow to it that some other prints can provide.  I ended up printing this photo as well as a family picture and both turned out amazing thanks to Artifact Uprising. They also have frames and photo gifts which would be terrific for anyone.

Since the official start of summer was also this week I wanted to share one of my favorite new sunscreens.  I know this may not seem exciting but I am a stickler about wearing sunscreen on my face and this stuff is amazing.  It doesn't make me feel overly oily, it doesn't cause me to break out and it smells incredible. I definitely recommend it.  Its available everywhere from Target to Ulta.

Homegoods is one of my favorite places to shop.  Next to Target, its like Disneyland for adults. I recently hopped in looking for pillows but came out with this pretty planner.  Its a 17 month calendar/planner starting from August 2016 through 2017. Its bright watercolor and gold details are gorgeous and I need the visual reminder to help me organize everything going on.  Plus, I'm OCD and love to make lists and be able to cross them off! Plus, it was under $5 too!!
